Requeson
V&V Supremo® Requeson is a traditional, Mexican-style whey cheese that can be used in both savory and sweet dishes. White in color, this cheese has a very mild, slightly sweet flavor, and a soft texture with very fine curds. Perfect for lasagna and cannoli, or to lighten the texture of a cheesecake. Use it as a filling (especially for V&V Supremo® Sopes) or for salads, pasta, dips, casseroles, and desserts.
V&V Supremo® Requeson is a distinct product in that it is a whey cheese, made in the manner of ricotta, which was popularized, and quite possibly invented in Sicily. For decades requeson has been utilized throughout Mexico for both savory and sweet preparations. Our Requeson is made in the traditional manner, and is perfect for all the authentic applications of classic Mexican cuisine, and wherever a filling or baking cheese is called for.
