There is nothing more satisfying than a really good homemade chocolate pudding from scratch that’s both crave- worthy and crowd pleasing.
Ingredients
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp. + 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa powder
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1 cup whole milk
- 15 oz. Supremo® Brand or Chihuahua® Brand Mexican Sour Cream from V&V SUPREMO®
- 1 stick cinnamon cut in half
- 2/3-cup semi- sweet chocolate chips
- 5 Tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
Decoration
5 Steps to complete
- 1Combine salt, sugar, cornstarch, and cocoa in a medium bowl.
- 2In another bowl, whisk yolks, milk, and sour cream. Add the cocoa mixture and keep whisking until well combined.
- 3Pour mixture in a medium saucepan, add the cinnamon, and cook over medium-high heat. Whisk constantly for approximately 7-8 minutes.
- 4Turn off the heat as soon mixture thickens. Stir in chocolate chips, butter, vanilla, and keep whisking until the butter is completely melted.
- 5Strain pudding into a bowl (straining will minimize particles of cinnamon). Pour into 5 oz. molds and let cool for about 20 minutes. Chill in the refrigerator for approximately 4 hours or overnight. Garnish each portion with one raspberry and confectionary sugar. Enjoy!
