There’s nothing like a quick and easy homemade soup to warm you up on a cold day. This recipe for Chorizo and Hominy Soup does just that. We invite you to try it!
Ingredients
- 1 (14 oz.) Supremo® Brand Pork Chorizo from V&V SUPREMO®
- 1 cup onion, diced
- ½ cup celery, diced
- 4 large garlic cloves, minced
- ½ Tbsp. sweet paprika
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 large bay leaf
- 1 (30 oz.) can white hominy rinsed and drained
- 3 cups chicken broth

- 1Place a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add Supremo® Brand Pork or Beef Chorizo from V&V SUPREMO® and cook for 5 minutes, breaking up meat with spoon.
- 2Stir in the onion, celery. Mix and cook for 3 minutes.
- 3Add garlic, paprika and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 4Add tomato sauce and bay leaf. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 5Add hominy, broth, and mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 5 minutes.
- 6Serve soup. Top with onion, cabbage, cilantro, radishes, avocado, and lime wedges.
