National Fajita Day is the right time to try our scrumptious Foil Packet Fajitas. Tender steak, bell peppers, and melted Chihuahua® Cheese are wrapped in warm flour tortillas.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp. Kosher salt
- ½ tsp. ground black pepper
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. Mexican-style chili powder
- ½ tsp. onion powder
- ½ tsp. paprika
- ⅛ tsp. ground cumin
- 1 lb. top sirloin steak, sandwich sliced, ½-inch strips
- ½ large yellow bell pepper, thin half-moon slice
- ½ large green bell pepper, thin half-moon slice
- ½ large red bell pepper, thin half-moon slice
- 1 small white onion, thin half-moon slice
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 cups Shredded Chihuahua® Brand Quesadilla Cheese from V&V SUPREMO®
- 8 (6-inch) flour tortillas, warmed
6 Steps to complete
- 1Preheat oven to 400°F.
- 2In a bowl; combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, paprika, and cumin. Stir until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 3In a large bowl; combine beef, bell peppers, and onion. Add lime juice, oil, and seasoning blend. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Divide fajita mixture into 4 equal portions.
- 4Tear off 4 (10-inch. x 8-inch) sheets of aluminum foil. Place 1 portion of fajita mixture in the middle of each piece of foil. Fold packets tightly to hold in steam during cooking. Transfer foil packets to a baking tray.
- 5Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven and carefully open each packet. Add ½ cup Chihuahua® Cheese to each packet and return to the oven for an additional 3 to 5 minutes to melt cheese.
- 6Serve Foil Packet Fajitas with warm tortillas and enjoy!
