Our Pepperoni Pizza has delicious balance of classic flavors. Crisp crust, rich tomato sauce, and a layer of pepperoni are covered with an irresistible layer of mouth-watering melted Chihuahua® Cheese!
Ingredients
Pizza Sauce:

1 tsp. unsalted butter

½ tsp. olive oil
-
1½ Tbsp. white onion, fine dice
-
¼ tsp. garlic, crushed
-
½ cup canned tomato purée
-
⅛ tsp. dried oregano
-
⅛ tsp. granulated sugar
-
⅛ tsp. Kosher salt
-
½ tsp. fresh basil, chopped
Pizza:

1Place pizza stone in cold oven. Preheat oven to 500F.

2Preheat a small sauce pan for 1 minute over medium-low heat; add butter and olive oil. Heat for 30 seconds or until butter is melted. Add onion, garlic, and sauté for 1 minute.

3Add tomato purée, oregano, sugar, salt, and basil. Simmer for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside until needed.

4Dust a clean work surface with half of the flour, and cornmeal, roll or stretch pizza dough to a 12-inch round. Dust pizza peel with cornmeal.

5Brush ½-inch border around dough with 1 teaspoon olive oil.

6Pour pizza sauce in the center of rolled out dough. Using a ladel, spread sauce across dough in a circular motion, leaving ½-inch border. Place pepperoni slices across sauce. Top pepperoni with Chihuahua® cheese and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.

7Transfer pizza to the pizza stone in the oven. Bake pizza for 7 to 9 minutes, or until cheese is golden.

8Remove Chihuahua® Cheese & Pepperoni Pizza from oven using pizza peel, and let pizza cool for 1 minute. Serve and enjoy!

9Note: Do not remove hot pizza stone from the oven. Allow stone to cool slowly in the oven or stone may crack.
