This delicious dessert, known as fried plantains (platanos machos), are enjoyed in a variety of ways in Mexico and throughout many Latin American countries. They will certainly find a place in your heart.
Ingredients

1 cup Supremo® Brand Mexican Sour Cream from V&V SUPREMO®

3 Tbsp. sugar

½ tsp. cinnamon, ground

½ tsp. vanilla extract
-
2 large, ripe (blackened) plantains
-
4 Tbsp. butter, unsalted
-
½ cup V&V SUPREMO® Brand Queso Fresco Cheese, crumbled

¾ cup roasted pecans, coarsely chopped

1In a bowl combine sour cream, 2 Tbsp. of sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Whisk well.

2Peel plantains and cut at an angle into slices approximately ½ inch thick.

3Place a large skillet over medium heat for 1 minute. Add butter and let it melt. Add plantain slices and fry them until golden brown on one side. Sprinkle the slices with remaining sugar and turn them over. Fry the other side for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from skillet and arrange plantains on four plates. Drizzle with sour cream mixture. Sprinkle cheese and toasted nuts on top. Enjoy!
