Although other beans are utilized, kidney beans are quite popular for soups and other preparations in El Salvador. This soup will convince anyone with the rich flavor. It’s as easy to make as it is tasty!
Ingredients

1 Tbsp. vegetable oil

½ medium white onion, diced

2 large garlic cloves, minced

1 medium green bell pepper, diced

2 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans, drained

2 cups beef broth
-
½ tsp. fresh ground black pepper

5 5 slices bacon, fried and diced

1 cup Supremo® Brand Mexican Sour Cream from V&V SUPREMO®

salt to taste

½ cup V&V SUPREMO® Brand Queso Fresco Cheese, crumbled
5 Steps to complete

1Preheat a saucepan over medium heat for 1 minute. Add oil, onion, green pepper and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring.

2Place beef broth, beans, and black pepper in the blender and blend well.

3Add puree to saucepan. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4Add sour cream and bacon, continue stirring and simmer for 5 more minutes. Add salt to taste.

5Ladle soup into the bowls and sprinkle cheese on top. Enjoy!
