Our street taco recipe is inspired by food trucks and street vendors across Mexico and the US. These tacos wouldn’t be complete withoutQueso Fresco from V&V Supremo®!
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- ¼ cup white onion, small dice
- ½ lb. sirloin steak, small bite sized pieces
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ¼ tsp. smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
- ¼ tsp. kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 4 (6-inch) corn tortillas, warm
- ½ (10 oz.) pkg. V&V SUPREMO® Brand Queso Fresco Cheese, crumbled
- 1 cup Cabbage Slaw...See recipe
- Fresh Tomatillo Salsa...See recipe or use your favorite brand
2 Steps to complete
- 1Preheat oil in a cast-iron skillet for 2 minutes over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté for 1 minute, or until onions soften slightly. Reduce heat to medium and add steak. Season with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook for 3 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce, increase heat to high, and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Divide steak into 4 portions and set aside.
- 2Fill each tortilla with 2 tablespoons Queso Fresco, 1 portion steak, 1 tablespoon Queso Fresco, 2 tablespoons Cabbage Slaw, and 1 additional tablespoon Queso Fresco. Serve with your favorite salsa and enjoy!
