Traditional tinga is Mexican-style shredded meat simmered in a savory sauce. Our Turkey Tinga Tostadas are topped with spicy chipotle shredded turkey tinga and Queso Fresco Cheese from V&V Supremo®. ¡Muy rica!
Ingredients
- ½ Tbsp. vegetable oil
- ¼ cup white onion, small dice
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 cups roasted turkey, shredded
- ⅓ cup chipotle salsa
- 1 tsp. chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, finely chopped
- ½ Tbsp. fresh lime juice
- ¼ tsp. Kosher salt
- ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
- ¼ cup unsalted chicken or turkey stock
- 1 Tbsp. fresh cilantro, chopped, divided
- 4 tostada shells
- ¾ cup Supremo® Brand Mexican Sour Cream from V&V SUPREMO®, divided
- ¾ cup V&V SUPREMO® Brand Queso Fresco Cheese, crumbled, divided
- ¾ cup red cabbage, fine shreds

3 Steps to complete
- 1Preheat oil in a skillet for 2 minutes over medium heat. Add onion and sauté for 1 minute. Add garlic and continue to sauté for 30 seconds. Add turkey, chipotle salsa, chipotle pepper, lime juice, salt, pepper, and stock. Reduce heat to medium low; simmer for 3 to 5 minutes or until turkey is warmed through and sauce has thickened slightly. Stir in ½ tablespoon cilantro. Divide Turkey Tinga into 4 portions and keep warm.
- 2Evenly spread each tostada shell with 2 tablespoons Sour Cream. Top with 2 tablespoons Queso Fresco Cheese and 1 portion Turkey Tinga. Add red cabbage, Pickled Red Onions, extra Queso Fresco Cheese, Sour Cream, and remaining cilantro.
- 3Serve Turkey Tinga Tostadas and enjoy!
